Well, this is dumb.
Yep, it's getting a facelift. yep, I'm dumb. Dumb Shan, dumb Shan, DARA.
All of the pages that are up right now are going to be torn back down at some point in the near future. They look bad, they sound bad, the storyline has no relevance to what it is now, and so many things remain unexplained, unrealistic and unsatisfying. Events are happening much too quickly, chapters are much, much too small, and the characters are completely unrealistic! So, now that you know my reasons, hopefully you will be patient until next year.
I have begun to write Dark One Sagas as though it is a novel, occurring in the present tense with a narration from the POV of any chosen character- mostly Kristy so far, with chris narrating his own thoughts and past and taking the narration for about 2 pages. Hopefully, this is how things will appear in the manga.
I have about 7 pages drawn so far. they are of high quality, and I am still reworking them in pencil to fit what I had originally wanted this work to be known for. the qualities I hope o see present in Dark One sags are as folows* Art- I want the art to be of a high quality and a unique realism-inspired manga style; I am currently working very hard to find the right balance of manga and realism styles to suit my tastes B- story. I want very much to have a story relevant to today's world in some ways, that would theoretically be physically possible, is intriguing, exciting and sufficiently mysterious and is generally clever and enjoyable to an audience C- layout. this is the toughest one for me. I want this manga to be interesting not only in the quaity of artwork and the craftsmanship of the story, but the way the pages are put together to convey emotion through visual aids both surreal and abstract; I have only once ever remarked upon the amazingly artistic and meaningful layout of one manga* Love (or Romantic) Egoist, by well known author Hatori Bisco, author of Ouran host club, at the back of which this supplement manga is published. i have studied her work in that particular series (I do not find Ouran's layout to be very artistic- it's too much of a fast-paced comedy for thatm I think), read up on the subject of layouts, studied briefly the victorian language of flowers \(for background effect) \, worked hard on my skills at drawing background items such as buildings and trees, researched clothing, improved plotlines, redrawn character designs, rethought points and generally performed a facelift of every aspect imaginable of this manga. There will still undoubtedly be more before the writing and planning process is at a stage where I am comfortable to post.
I'm sorry for hte terribly long post. In the meanitme, please be patient and enjoy other, more prepared and professional artist's works. I will not let you down in providing an even better manga than before for you to enjoy in future years.
Much love from beneath (most of) your feet, Shan (who is in japan).
